Cole was baptized today, and it was a great baptism. The program was beautiful...everyone did a great job! Grandma Halls gave the opening prayer, Grandpa Jensen gave the talk, Amber and the girls sang a musical number, Steve performed all the ordinances and Grandma Jensen gave the closing prayer. Thank you to those friends and family who joined us to celebrate the occasion.
It was fun being here in Hawaii for his baptism. Our ward is so loving and has completely embraced us. It is tradition to use lei's on many occasions, and Cole's baptism was one of them. The ward members who attended the baptism lei'd him and he looked sooo cute! Congratulations, we are so proud of you Cole!

It's Great To Be Eight

Happy Birthday Cole!
Happy 8th Birthday Cole! Once again it is hard to believe that Cole is already 8. He is such a fun, handsome boy! Cole was pretty spoiled on his birthday. He got a new bike and many other gifts....then his Dad surprised him (and his mom) with a new BB gun. He has had a good time with it and is quite an amazing shot for an 8 yr old.
For Cole's birthday we rented a boat from the Marine Corps base and spent a few hours on Kaneohe Bay. It ended up being a windy, cold (78 degrees) day so we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the water, but we had a good time exploring the bay and watching turtles.
After dinner and birthday cake we went to the movie, Monsters vs. Aliens (it was alright). It was a good day. You are a great kid, happy birthday bud!

Happy Birthday Havyn!
It is hard to believe that my baby is 3 (going on 16)! Havyn is such a fun little girl! We love having her around, she has so much personality. Havyn had a great birthday filled with all sorts of princesses. Grandpa and Grandma Jensen and Grandma Halls flew in for Cole's baptism so Havyn was lucky to have them here to help celebrate. We love you little lady!

Responsibility???
I am starting to re-think the responsibilities of a two year old. Havyn proved that two year olds came make their own meals. She went to the refrigerator and got everything out herself and made her own sandwich. All these years I have been making sandwiches all wrong. If you would like Havyn's sandwich recipe here it is:
4 slices of bread
1 slice of ham
1/2 pkg. of pepperoni
Yum! Yum!

It Never Gets Old
Yesterday was a very rainy day. Whenever we get a good rain the mountains are spectacular...there are waterfalls off of every peak. I know I have done a post on this in the past, but it never gets old!

Biking Excursion
Yesterday, drizzly weather and all, we loaded up all the bikes and headed to the North Shore. We started at Shark's Cove and rode to the end of the trail. (There is a nice paved trail that follows the beach) At the end of the trail we stopped and had lunch at Ted's bakery. Everyone had a great time....we love being outdoors! While we were sitting eating lunch Steve noticed this huge tree that had a palm tree growing right out of the middle of it. We thought it was pretty cool, so here are some pictures.

Baptism songs????
Yesterday I was trying to put a program together for Cole's baptism, so that we could get it approved by the Bishop. I called Cole over and said, "What songs would you like to sing during your baptism?" His exact words were, "Nickleback, Gotta Be Somebody." Do you think the Bishop will approve?

Book Worm
I have always thought that Havyn was smart....today she proved that I was right. She showed me that she could read 9 books all at the same time. Man she's smart! What a cutie!

European Bread Recipe?????
While living in Germany we got very spoiled! European bread is sooooo good. Every time we would take a trip we would stop at the bakery on our way out of town and load up on delicious rolls! They have the crispiest crust with a very soft center. Why can't we make these in the states? I have tried recipes that I have found online but they never measure up. If anyone has a recipe that they think compares to european bread I would love to try it. In the meantime, I'll just have to keep dreaming about those rolls!
